We will contact prize winners in the coming weeks.

Information collected through this survey helps the Government of South Australia track the growth of the state’s startup ecosystem and learn the best ways to provide business support.

Eligible startup founders who completed the survey will go in the random draw to win one of several prizes*, including:

  • A lunch meeting with the South Australian Chief Entrepreneur Andrew Nunn
  • One of six bottles of Adelaide Hills wine
  • One of five gift boxes of locally made chocolate.

Eligible participants who have completed the 2021 survey may be in the running to win one of the following prizes:

  • Lunch meeting with the South Australian Chief Entrepreneur in the Adelaide CBD (x 1).
  • Bottle of Adelaide Hills wine (x 6);
  • Gift box of locally made chocolate (x 5);

By participating in this survey, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • You meet the eligibility requirements for participation in the survey;
  • You are over the age of 18 or if you are under the age of 18, you have parental or guardian consent to participate in the survey, and your parent or guardian are aware of and agree to these terms. If you are under 18 and you win a prize that is an alcoholic beverage, your prize will be substituted at the Department for Innovation and Skills' (DIS) discretion.
  • To the full extent permitted by law, the Minister for Innovation and Skills/DIS will not be liable for any injury, damages, expenses, or loss whatsoever (whether direct or inconsequential) to persons or property as a result of you participating in the survey, entering into the draw or accepting or using the prize.
  • You release the State Government of South Australia (including DIS), its officers, employees and agents from, and indemnifies each of them against, any and all liability or any loss, damage or injury of any kind arising from or in connection with your participation in the survey, this draw or the prize.
  • DIS reserves the right to amend, cancel or suspend the draw at any stage at its absolute discretion and will not be liable to replace or reimburse any of the prizes. DIS may substitute any of the prizes at its discretion. Prizes must be claimed in person by 30 June 2021. No prize can be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash.
  • In regards to the ‘Lunch meeting with the South Australian Chief Entrepreneur’: DIS will choose the lunch venue capped at a value to be determined by DIS. Lunch will be organised for a mutually convenient date before 30 July 2021.

Please note: The definition of a 'startup' for the sake of this research refers to businesses with the following attributes:

  • It is based in South Australia
  • It has an active ABN and operations
  • It was founded within the last 10 years
  • It develops its own innovative products or services
  • It competes for national or overseas customers
  • It has raised, or has potential to raise, private investment
  • It has the potential to scale and become highly profitable.
